Easter Newsletter

posted 7 Apr 2011, 09:16 by Lancaster University Canoe Club   [ updated 7 Apr 2011, 09:17 ]

Hello LUCC!

This is just a quick newsletter to let you know what is going on over Easter!

Roses boot camp

We are going to have a pool session on Wednesday the 27th April from 7.45 to 9.45am. We could only secure one slot for the pool so the first half will be for Polo and from 8.45 it will be Slalom.

There may also be some extra fitness training this week if enough people are back in Lancaster to make it worthwhile. So if you can sign up your interest on the forum we can plan further things once we have an idea on numbers.

Alps

Tents - We are still trying to find out how many tents we own as a group, and how many people they can hold so we can then sort out who will be taking tents in their cars and who will be sharing with who. So if you do have a suitable tent we could use please post up on the forum

Documents – So by now you should all be in the process of getting all your paperwork together! You need to give a photocopied version to Becky by the 11th May of; your ferry/tunnel crossing confirmation, personal insurance, EHIC and passport. Drivers will also need to get photocopies of both parts of their driving licenses and insurance for the car

FOA – 10/04/2011

For those of you attending FOA this Sunday, the minibus/Amy’s car will be leaving from the sports centre at 7am. If you are around on the Saturday we are packing the minibus at 17.30 so any help would be appreciated!

BUCS Polo – 15-17/04/2011

Final details are now up on the forum. The mini bus is being packed on campus at 3.30pm and we intend to leave soon after, we should hopefully be in Doncaster for around 6pm. If you are making your own way there make a note of Megan’s number and ring her once you arrive!

First Aid refresher – 03/05/2011

Firstly I need to point out that this is not over Easter! But it is booked for pretty soon after we get back!

This is a first aid refresher evening for people who have a valid first aid qualification but would like to practice their skills so they’re all up to scratch for future river trips, Alps, or just some general revision!
So on Tuesday the 3rd May from 7.15 to 9.15 pm we have booked the training room in the sports centre. Rachel was thinking that it would be peer learning, so that you can check you’re doing things right from your peers and also from some books on first aid etc.

Happy Easter!

The Exec x
