RIVER TRIPS

Saturday: Beginner’s trip to the Burrs

TYNE TOUR

What is it?

A paddling weekend in Hexham, visiting the River Tyne, and maybe even the River Tees.

When is it?

Friday 5th -  Sunday 7th November

What is happening there?

Apart from paddling on Saturday and Sunday, there are also fireworks on Friday night, and a massive ceilidh (imagine a barn dance but with many, many drunk students..) on the Saturday night.

How much is it and when do I need to pay?

It costs £40 and this includes: camping fees, ceilidh tickets, and a pass to paddle on the river. It also includes already the fuel cost so there’s no need to bring money for travelling.

You need to pay this money to Chris by Friday 22nd October

BUCS White Water Race

The aim of the game is to paddle down a stretch of water in the fastest time possible, either in an individual race or as part of a team. It is as simple as that, paddle as fast as possible! It’s a fun weekend away with a bit of a competitive edge.

Location: River Washburn, North Yorkshire
Date: 27th and 28th November 2010 (End of week 7)
Cost: £18 plus any money for snacks and drinks

Polo Talk

Wednesday 27th October (week 3)

Furness LT 2

7pm

This is a chance for the rules and game to be explained to those who want to learn to play. It will also cover different tactics that can be used, which will make the game easier to understand. All are welcome!

Basic River Skills (White water) Talk (week 4)

Monday 1st November

Furness LT 2

7pm

This is a chance to learn how to get down a river without a problem – what moves to use where and how, what things are important to avoid on rivers, and regular signals that are used on trips. This is an important talk – everyone is welcome to attend but it is compulsory for people wishing to attend Tyne Tour!

Much love and stuff,

The Exec
