Newsletter Week 12 - 21st January

Montanes

You can still buy a Club Montane, only cost about £82 if we get enough people ordering them (that's a mega saving of £40)! They are great at keeping you warm on the side of a river, or even just wandering the chilly streets of Lancaster . If you are interested or would like to see a photo then please look at the forum. Deadline to order one (from the forum) is Wednesday 23rd January.

Hustings

This Thursday a nomination sheet will be going up outside the LUSU activities office in the bunker for the next exec. If you would like to be on the exec then you need 2 nominations to be put through. If you are unsure if you would like to go for an exec position or would like to learn more about it, we will be posting about the positions or just ask the current exec member what their jobs entails. It is great fun and worth trying for so that you can make a difference to the club.

President's trip

Sign up for president's trip is still open for this weekend. This is basically a chance to paddle some rivers you might not have been on and have a mess around with the club! You need to pay BEFORE you go. You can still pay online or pay to Laura (who is super easy to find).

Boat Fixing

Laura is organizing a boat fixing session and she would love some help! If you are interested in learning how to fix the carbon boats then this is a good opportunity!

BUCS Slalom

BUCS slalom sign up closes on Friday, so if you are interested in going then sign-up on the forum! There are more details on the forum, so if you do not know what slalom is or if you can do it, have a look.

Fitness

As of today we are starting fitness training for polo. This is so our team has a good chance at BUCS and Roses! We are going for a run, meet outside the sports center at 6:30pm. If you are lucky you might get to see beefy's tight white shorts!

Social and EGM

This Wednesday we are having an EGM followed by our social which is the big night out in colour. Meet for the EGM at 7pm in Frankland LT, it is important that as many people as possible come to the EGM. It is something that will effect you and the running of the club. More details are on the forum.

Much Love,

The Exec x
